SY FILES: Manay Gina na lang ...ni Susan Yadao Mas gusto pa rin ni Congressman Gina de Venecia ang tawagin siya sa nakagawiang Manay Gina kaysa sa dapat lang at akmang titulong Congresswoman. Hindi naman daw niya ituturing na kawalang pag-galang ito, mas type lang niya talaga ang pagtawag sa kanya na Manay Gina dahil kung hindi parang napapalayo raw siya sa mga tao. Marahil ay hindi pa siya sanay sa pinasok niyang bagong mundo. Sabi nga niya nakakapanibago kung dati rati ay nakaupo lang siya sa gallery ngayon doon na siya mismo nakaupo sa plenary bilang member of the House of Representatives. Feeling daw niya pumapasok siya sa school with former classmates, karamihan kasi sa mga bagong kongresista ay mga kasamahan niya sa congressional spouses. Kilala rin niya halos lahat dahil mga kasamahan ito dati ni Speaker JDV at ang iba naman, the younger generations, ay mga anak ng kanyang mga kasamahan at karamihan ay mga inaanak pa nito sa kasal. Kaya naman at home at parang class reunion lang kung pumapasok siya sa kongreso. Madalas rin umano kasama ni Manay Gina ngayon ay ang kanyang mga seatmates na kapwa bagong kongresista sina Cong kimi at Cong Marlyn. Pero, teka nakikita ko sa aking bolang krystal ang napipintong pagkabuo ng mas masayang barkadahan ng Pangasinan. Bonggang bongga kung kasama pa nila si Cong Rachel diba? Hello Mam.I'm one of your follower and also a single again mom of 3 kids.I was a battered wife and an ex-ofw but recently back to college.My parents had passed away some years back and I hope you can help me to pursue my dream, to finish my college.I want to find a better job here and not to be away with my growing up kids.I'm here in Bicol region.I need support or scholarship from a good samaritan like you.I tried many times to seek help from NGO assistance but I failed as they said I'm already 38 years old...Many thanks and may God bless you always..Lyn Borsigue

Dear Gina,
I hope you can help me..in Feb. 1945, during the Battle for Manila, a group of neighbors who had been hiding in the basement of our home decided to cross the lines to the American side..our home was at 740 Dakota St., now Adriatico St.in Malate.. as we were running to safety, a little boy who was probably as old as I was [6 years old] was shot and killed by a Japanese sniper.During my visit to Manila this past January, I had merienda with a former neighbor of ours who also witnessed this terrible tragedy..He said that he thought the little boy was the son of the Vera-Perez family who lived in the neighborhood..so I now turn to you to ask if this was indeed a member of your family and if so, would you share with us his name..he is forever part of our lives and we think about him all the time. I would be forever greatful if you could shed some light on this. Many thanks..

We are a group of self funded, self motivated volunteers, sanctioned by UNICEF to run awareness seminars for the Prevention of Abuse of Women and the Exploitation of children. We run seminars for school girls in High Schools and college/Universities all over southeast asia since 1999. This August we will be in the Philippines.
